Hon. Steven M. Abshire
Judge Abshire was appointed to the General Division bench in 2026.
After graduating from Northridge High School in Harrison Township, Judge Abshire honorably served in the United States Army. Following his military service, Judge Abshire earned his B.A. in Urban Affairs and M.A. in Applied Behavioral Science from Wright State University. He earned his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law. Judge Abshire began his legal career as an Assistant Prosecutor in Montgomery County, OH, where he handled multiple felony dockets and served as supervising attorney for the CARE House Division.
Judge Abshire later entered private practice, representing juveniles and adults in local municipal and county courts. Judge Abshire also has served as a Guardian Ad Litem in juvenile and domestic relations courts. His legal experience includes extensive litigation across both criminal and civil matters, including adoptions, contract disputes, landlord-tenant issues, estate planning, and insurance defense.
Prior to coming to the bench, Judge Abshire’s previous judicial experience included serving as a Magistrate in Greene County Juvenile Court, handling delinquency matters, children’s services cases, private custody cases, and juvenile civil protection order matters. Judge Abshire remains an active member in many community organizations, including various VFW’s, American Legions, and is a member of the Northridge Kiwanis.
